Kevin Durant's Missed 3-Pointer Sends Lakers to Semifinals

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Phoenix Suns 106-103 in the midseason quarterfinals.

In a thrilling In-Season Tournament quarterfinal matchup, the Los Angeles Lakers held on to defeat the Phoenix Suns 106-103, thanks to Kevin Durant's missed game-tying 3-pointer with just seconds remaining.

The Suns fought back valiantly throughout the game, trailing by as many as 14 points in the second half. However, they were unable to overcome the Lakers' size and athleticism, particularly in the paint.

With the game tied at 103 and 7.4 seconds left, the Lakers inbounded the ball to Durant, the Suns' best player. Phoenix quickly fouled Durant, sending him to the line for two free throws.

Durant hit his first free throw, but missed the second, giving the Lakers a one-point lead. The Suns rushed the ball down the court, but Durant intercepted the pass and launched a desperation 3-pointer as time expired.

The ball bounced off the rim, and the Lakers' bench erupted in celebration. They had survived a scare from the Suns and advanced to the semifinals of the In-Season Tournament.

Durant finished the game with 31 points, but his missed 3-pointer proved to be costly. The Suns will now regroup and focus on the upcoming regular season, hoping to get their Big Three of Durant, Devin Booker, and Bradley Beal healthy before the playoffs.
