Green's Return Turns Sour: Warriors Fall to Grizzlies, But Defense Not the Culprit, Says Kerr

The story of the Golden State Warriors' loss to the Memphis Grizzlies in Draymond Green's first game back. Green criticised his team's defence after the game, but Warriors head coach Steve Kerr attributed his team's loss to mistakes on the offensive end.

Draymond Green's much-anticipated return from his 16-game suspension couldn't save the Golden State Warriors from a tough loss against the Memphis Grizzlies. Despite Green's presence, the Warriors lost 116-107 to a Grizzlies team that was missing JaMarrant, Desmond Bain and Marcus Smart.

After the game, Draymond criticised the team's defence, calling it "soft". However, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr had a different take.

On 95.7 The Game radio show, Kerr dismissed Draymond's concerns about the defence, exposing another culprit in the loss". After watching the tape, I'm more worried about the offence than the defence. I think a lot of the mistakes we made on offence led to defensive problems."

Cole's analysis highlights the complexity of basketball, where offensive struggles often snowball into defensive breakdowns. While Draymond may have focused on only one aspect, the head coach identified a deeper problem that needs to be addressed.
