Waynesville Defeats East Clinton in Jeff Craft Memorial Classic

Waynesville High School defeated East Clinton High School 58-47 in the first round of the regular season of the third annual Jeff Cracroft Memorial Playoffs. The championship game will be played Saturday between Waynesville and Clinton-Massie.

ADAMS TOWNSHIP - Waynesville defeated East Clinton, 58-47, in the first round of the third annual Jeff Craft Memorial Tournament Friday night at Brian P. Mudd Field.

The Astronomers (0-1) will play Cincinnati Woodward in the consolation game at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Bulldogs lost to Clinton-Massie 69-47 Friday night.

Clinton-Massie and Waynesville will play for the tournament championship at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Claycraft is a veteran basketball coach who has coached at East Clinton and Clinton-Massie. He also coached at Wilmington High School. He died unexpectedly during the 2020-21 season while he was head coach at East Clinton High School.

East Clinton defeated Waynesville 44-36 in last season's championship game. Waynesville defeated Fayetteville-Perry 52-41 to win the inaugural 2021 Claycraft Classic championship.
