Girls
The girls team faced a tough Benton team in their first game of the Savannah Invitational. The Spoofhounds showed some early promise, but Benton proved to be too much for the young Maryville team, defeating them 23-58. Despite the loss, there is plenty of room for growth and improvement for the young Spoofhounds team.
Boys
The boys team had a different story, routing South Harrison 100-36. This is the first time that Maryville has scored 100 points in at least 15 seasons, according to MSHAA. Peyton McCollum led the way with 29 points, including five three-pointers. His younger brother, Tate, scored 22 points in his first high school game, including six three-pointers. The combination of speed and deadly three-point shooting could be a problem for the Spoofhounds' opponents going forward. Maryville led 48-23 at halftime and then put up 34 points in the third quarter on their way to a blowout victory.
